Please note that tennis club membership has been temporarily suspended.  

The tennis courts will be closed from 8am on Thursday 4th June until Tuesday 8th June 2020 for weed removal and resurfacing work.

The tennis courts at John Pears have now been reopened, following closure  due to Coronavirus. Bookings and payments can currently only be made online through Mid Sussex District Council’s website. Click here for the link.
£6.50 full rate, £3.25 junior rate.
The code for the key safe will be provided in the confirmation email.

2019/20 membership
The Tennis Club’s annual membership runs 1st May to 30th April.
This year, the Club is piloting a special introductory rate for new memberships taken up in May.

The discounted Membership fees:
Adult £40 £35; Family £100 £70; juniors 11-16 years £25 £20 and primary school and under £10.

Ashurst Wood Community Tennis Club uses the tennis courts at John Pears Recreation Ground and facilitates the opportunity for local residents and the neighbouring community to play tennis.   The Club is keen to encourage a friendly environment with tennis opportunities for all levels.  Membership provides an easy and convenient means to access the courts.

We also offer coaching opportunities for juniors and adults and Club tournaments.  We are keen to promote and develop opportunities for junior tennis and junior coaching. Information is available on the above contact details.

Membership to the Club allows access to the courts throughout the year (subject to booking), Club times providing an opportunity to play with other members and Club.  The Club is affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and so has added benefits and AWCTC members can join the British Tennis Membership (which is free).

Membership year runs 1st May to 30th April.

The Wimbledon ballot for 2019 took place on 25th April. All AWCTC members (who have signed up for BTM) are eligible to opt in for the ballot click here Only members of our Club who have signed up as a BTM member and opted in will be eligible to enter our ballot for tickets next April.

Street Snooker Multi Use Games Wall: The Club is delighted that the wall is now in place at John Pears.  Members can use the wall to practice their accuracy.
