Have your say on the new political map for Mid Sussex District Council

The Local Government Boundary Commission has now published its draft recommendations for the new electoral arrangements for MSDC. As previously advised, the proposal is to reduce the number of Mid Sussex Councillors from 54 to 48.
The proposed new warding arrangements would see a new single Councillor ward called Ashurst Wood & Rural. Ashurst Wood would no longer be combined with part of the Woodbury Estate, as at present, but would instead be combined with a large rural area including parts of Herontye, Turners Hill Road, Saint Hill and Kingscote; with a current electorate of just over 2,000. This was considered preferable to combining the village with more urban parts of East Grinstead. An alternative name for the new ward is South East Grinstead & Ashurst Wood.
The current ward name is Ashurst Wood.
