The Finance and Administration Committee has drafted the Council’s budget for 2021/2022. This, together with the recommendation for the precept, was considered at the full Council meeting on the 1st December 2020.
Members agreed the draft budget and the recommendation of a precept increase from £69,500 to £70,000. For a Band D property, and based on Mid Sussex District Council’s draft tax base (which is used to calculate the rates for each band), this would mean an annual increase in the Ashurst Wood portion of our Council Tax payment of £2.80. Please note that the tax base will be considered for approval by MSDC on the 9th December, so could be changed, and that the precepts for MSDC, WSCC and the Police have not yet been confirmed, so the overall increase in our Council Tax bill is not yet known.
The draft budget will be reviewed at the Village Council’s meeting on 2nd February 2021, when the final budget and precept will be approved.
If you have any questions or comments about the budget and/or precept recommendation, please send them to the Clerk before the end of January 2021, so that they may be taken into account by the Council when making the final decision.
