Queen's Platinum Jubilee Party 2nd June 2022

On the 6th February 2022, the Queen became the first British monarch ever to mark 70 years on the throne and celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. To mark the event, there will be a long weekend of celebrations from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June.

We plan to have our own celebration on Thursday 2nd June (which will be a Bank Holiday) at John Pears Field.
Come and spend time with your family and friends. There will be musical entertainment during the afternoon, including a performance from Choir & Ko and other local musicians. In the evening there will be a headline band, The Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

Doors open 2.30 pm.

Bring your own picnic or enjoy the offerings available from our food and drink vendors, including afternoon tea and cakes from the St Dunstan's Community cafe, and a licensed bar from Sussex Event Bars.

At around 9.45 pm we will take part in the national beacon lighting ceremony.

More details to follow.

Support for the event

We are very grateful to Mid Sussex District Council for the award of a grant of £1,000.00 from its Platinum Jubilee Grant Fund. This will help to cover the cost of hiring stage and sound equipment and other expenses.

We are pleased to announce that the event is supported by PPLPRS United for Music: Under the Charity and Community Discount scheme, the cost of the necessary music licences for the event has been reduced by 50%.
