Have your say about a Sussex Mayor

The Government is consulting on a proposal to form a Mayoral Combined Authority covering West and East Sussex and Brighton.The consultation ends on the 13th April 2025.

There are also plans being drawn up to reorganise local government across Sussex, by forming unitary authorities which will take over the work currently done by District and County Councils. Details of these plans will be published when they have been prepared, and there will be a further consultation.

There are no plans at this stage to make any changes to the status of parish and town councils (including Ashurst Wood Village Council).
