The freehold of the Village Centre was purchased by the Village Council from the Church of England in 2009.

The Centre is leased to the Ashurst Wood Village Centre Trustees, who look after it and take bookings for its use.
A separate extension was added to the Centre during 2015-2016. This houses the Village Council's office and meeting room.

Ashurst Wood Village Centre was awarded a Hallmark Level 3 in December 2009, having been awarded level one in December 2008 and level 2 in July 2009.

The Hall is available for private hire and is ideal for parties, exhibitions etc.

There are regular activities at the hall, such as yoga, Zumba, and taekwondo, which are open to members of the public to attend (some may need advance booking).
